Happy Friday!

Happy Friday everybody! Hope you're all getting super excited for the weekend... I have been enjoying an unexpected day off to get ready for a nice and relaxing couple of days. So in the spirit of happy fridays and getting out from behind the desk to enjoy the sites over the weekend, I thought I'd share with you a few pics from my iphone. Captured by foot, car or public transport from the streets of the fabulous city I currently call home - Melbourne. betty xx

mechanic + old bomb = $0

It's not a bad day to be walking an hour to the mechanic to pick up the old bomb. 25 degrees, sunny out, a tad too much wind… but overall pretty good! However, knowing you've got yet another $1200+ bill waiting for you puts a bit of a dark cloud over the event. Once, just once, I ask to put the car in for a service and that's all it is - change the oil, have a tinker here and look there - job done. But no, not with our beast. Not once have we had a bill lower than $1000 and more than on one occasion had to foot a bill closer to, or over $2000 and we've only had the damn car two years! Thanks to my dad's best mates daughters husband... it appears we've inherited a BOMB. An ugly maroon, 1998 Ford Fairmont family wagon bomb to top it off. Had it looked like one of these cars in Franks online folio… it might not be so hard to swallow.

Have a fab day... I'm off to see my mechanic, to collect our heap of *#@^!

Rodarte for Opening Ceremony

Loving the Fall/Winter 2011 lookbook from Rodarte for Opening Ceremony. It's done the rounds many many times already, but the clean, cool feel of the shoot seemed appropriate to blog about on this bright white 29 degree day. 

A simple infinity shoot, with clean lighting has been turned into something much more by the use of repetition, movement and artful interplay of the one look - turning a basic lookbook into something that quietly oozes with personality. And of course, the collection is pretty good too - billowing silk, ruffles, floral prints, all in a soft palette of mint, blush, ochre and more... it's utterly breathtaking. Get your grubby little mitts on it over here.
